To children of deceased or severely injured Arizona Workers

Our mission is to fulfill the dreams of many children who cannot reach their potential without help. A legitimate on-the-job accident is devastating not only to the individual employee but to the employee's children. It is the child who looks to the parent for subsistance, guidance, and support. Though the parent always wants more for their child than they had, the future dreams for a better life are often shattered when a parent experiences an industrial injury. To qualify for help, the parent's work-related injury or death must have led to a substantial decline in family income. The applicant must be between the ages of 16 and 25 and meet academic standards set by Kids' Chance of Arizona. The scholarship is good for one semester, but the applicant must maintain acceptable grades each quarter in order to continue.

1. The 16-year old Arizona boy who has to drop out of high school to take a job at minimum wage to help put food on the family table after his parent is killed in a work-related accident.
   
   
2. The 18-year old Arizona girl who dreamed of becoming a nurse, legal assistant or cosmetologist, who cannot now attend a vocational/technical school to learn a trade.
   
   
3. The Arizona high school graduate who wanted to be the first in the family to obtain a college degree and now finds the college doors closed.
   
   
4. The Arizona college student who began the goal to obtain a college degree but now has no funds to complete the journey.
